My Intentions for 2019

As I reflect on 2018 and envision what I hope for in 2019, I see Faith, Love, Strength, and Possibilities. I will strive to be more present for all the beauty I have the privilege of witnessing on a regular basis:

  • Students connecting with one another as well as their teachers
  • Teachers showing up and having passion even when it is hard
  • My husband reading to our children and teaching them about math, music, football, life
  • My children laughing and cuddling
Women cheering on other women and empowering one another to go fast and take chances (Thank you, Oiselle)
  • I aim to not lose sight of these things when I am in the daily grind. I want to show people I love them every chance I get. This past year reminded me of how short and painful life can be (see Glimmers of Hope,Goodbye for Now). People are what matters, not material things, status, or goals.
  • Most importantly, I want to grow in my relationship with God. I will take more time to be in The Word and to pray for my family, friends, and anyone who needs it. I will trust Him as I embark on this journey of preparing for and participating in a mission trip. I am slowly teaching myself a little Russian in the hopes of making strong connections- Thank you, Duolingo.
  • Finally, I will continue to run as many miles as my body lets me, working hard, but pulling back when necessary. I feel so fortunate for the gift of running and for my strong, healthy body. Racing compounds my joy by feeding my competitive drive while also allowing me to connect with the running community. Here is my racing calendar for this year:
